We offer a variety of drop in classes at Westside. No experience required. Come check out a class!


What is the FT: Strength and Sweat Class

This is a 60 minute FULL body strength workout using dumbbells and kettlebells and finishes with a sweaty conditioning session. Expect to get the heart rate up and have some fun! Great for all levels of fitness (beginners to regulars).

What is the Mobility Class

Bands, dynamic, and static holds are used in this 50-minute session to help you experience less discomfort, increase your range of motion, and become more flexible. Ideal for individuals who work at desks every day or who wish to improve their movement to see better outcomes in the workouts.

What is the Posterior and Core Class

This 60 minute class focuses on the posterior chain and core. Expect exercises that dig deep into the glutes and hamstrings paired with some spicy abdominal work. Get a sculpted midsection and posterior!

What is the Run + Stretch Class

This class includes an outdoor run led by a Certified WS Coach and ends with a guided stretch. There will be defined paces for more seasoned runners, and new clients will learn how to pace. The 3-6 km runs end at Westside with a runner specific guided stretch.

What is the Strength Class

This is a 60 minute class that rotates around the three big lifts: Back Squat, Deadlift, and Bench Press.  Each hour starts with one of the big lifts, then focuses on accessory exercises plus upper body push/pull exererises. Prepare to get strong!

What is the Olympic Lifting Class

This 60 minute class is all about the Clean n Jerk and Snatch. Each class includes a barbell warmup, primary section and accessory section. The primary section focuses on the clean n jerk or snatch. The accessory section uses various exercises to build on different aspects of the lifts. No experience required.

FAQ

Can I do these classes if I have no training experience or experience in weightlifting?

Yes! Our coaches will teach you how to move safely and effectively and will guide you to proper weights to use in the workouts.

How is this class different from your regular Westside (WS) classes?

Our Westside classes are programmed intentionally and on a cycle so that you see improved strength and fitness week to week. Each class matters and is moving you forward in your fitness. Expect to see yourself get stronger and faster, but also be able to move onto more skilled movements that will continue to challenge you, keep your training fun, and see your fitness increase year to year. We require all new clients do the “Get Started” sessions before attending the WS classes. Learn more here.

What if I am injured, burnt out from work, or new to training?

We highly recommend the FT- Strength + Sweat class if you are coming back from an injury, burnt out at work, or new to group training. The FT- Strength + Sweat class is a full body workout that focuses a ton on unilateral balance (which prevents future injury), improved posture and core, while still getting a good sweat on and building lean muscle. Because we use dumbbells and kettlebells we can do a ton of exercises that will work around most injuries. We can also adjust workouts with weight, reps, and time so we can meet you where you’re at in your current fitness. We want you to go home feeling awesome and inspired to come back for more.

What do I wear to class?

Any type of fitness gear that feels comfortable to move in. We will be squatting so any type of pant or short that allows you to do this. Please wear gym shoes like cross trainers and bring your water bottle to stay hydrated.

If I am current member can I take these class?

Yes! Your monthly membership includes these classes except the mobility class. Sign up using the app
